Daisy (in) May

These daisy's were in the garden next to our plot. With the sun on them they really stood out. This was taken on the last day of May. ISO 640, 1/4000 sec, f/8 at 48 mm, shot in JPEG. LYLE

First Harvest

Judi asked me to take my truck over to the garden so she could harvest her first crop of radishes. She is so fun, but they are good. LYLE

Tulips

I have not posted many photos of flowers, mostly because I don't take many photos of them. I kind of like the way the white flowers lead your eye to the purple ones and finally to the tulips. ISO 100, f/4.5, 70 mm, 1/200 sec shutter in JPEG. LYLE

I just thought I would show you they have started cutting hay down here. 3 exposure panorama 28mm w/28-300 lens 1/350 sec f22  Bruce

Walking the Plank

I just thought I would show you this it is Inez's pond Ishot at the Nebraska reunion. I'm really ashamed of myself I hadn't had my roll film developed that I shot there. I really didn't think I would get any pictures that didn't require a lot of work in photo shop but they turned out like I shot them yesterday. I made 3 copies and made 1 lighter and 1 darker then combined them for an HDR I didn't record any settings.  Bruce

City Lights

This is what happens when you use the delay timer and don't focus, Some times I like my mistakes. I was trying to take a pitcure of a '57 chevy.  f10 .30sec 135mm Bruce

Sun Setting on Justice

I went out shooting with Leigh and this is where we ended up. The Historical Harrison County Court House this is a 3 exposure HDR 28mm at f10   Bruce

Woodpeckers

Back on the Jordan
River Trail, these little guys were flirting with each other and ignoring me. They gave me time to get my 70-300 on and change the camera settings to get a reasonable shot off. I couldn't see that there was a small branch in the foreground, sorry. This is a single exposure at f/5.3, ISO 100, and 240 mm. LYLE

Cypress Knees & Trees

I thought I would send another photo for good memories, Yes I remember the cypress knee in our house. This shot is close to the one I posted and called big foot. I did a lot to this photo also I did a 3 exposure HDR then used layers again made a B&W layer and an artistic dry brush layer. I am really enjoying this and Linda thinks I'm not spending enough time with her. Bruce

Hope and Trust

Both hope and trust are displayed here. "Sure hope I hit the peg." "Should I trust this guy with my hands?" Actually I was on assignment with the photo group at work to take a photo of a tulip, I got two of them. Aperture priority, 1/1500 sec, ISO 100, -0.3 EV, 10 mm with the 10-24 wide angle. A single capture.  LYLE

Lonely Chimney

I am at a loss for words other than I like the photograph. I just wonder what happened to the building and what it looked like. I tried a 3 exposure HDR but they wouldn't line up without leaving unsharp edges. 1/1500 sec f6.7  58mm  Bruce

Sabine Farms falling down

This is a shame, maybe some day these buildings will be restored. This is a 3 exposure HDR.  Bruce

not as pretty of a Butterfly

As you can see I have shot butterflies this is the latest about 2 weeks ago, your subject is prettier! f6.7 1/350 sec 300mm  Bruce

Pretty Butterfly

This is one of the only butterfly photos I have ever taken. I did not break the rules, the flower that the butterfly lited on is not related to me, I actually don't know who she is, she was just walking through a park when I saw her. Not an especially compelling shot, just a cute subject. Aperture priority, f/5.6, 102 mm with the 70-300, shutter 1/125. LYLE

Sabine Farms Historical Marker

I decided to shoot the sign rather than telling the story. The first time I heard of this place I was told it was an old fort and that was around 1980 but this is the first time I have shot it.  Bruce

Sabine Farms building

This is sad that this was left to fall apart. I have shot most of the buildings that are left and this is the most complete one. I haven't had time to edit them all so I will post more later,  3 exposure HDR.  Bruce

In The Tree Tops

I like the way this house seems to be floating in the tree tops. The HDR technique brings a lot of detail out in the trees and makes the color really pop. After a little straightening and cropping I am pretty pleased with the results. LYLE

It all uphill from here

I see a neighborhood like this and wonder about the home owners, are they oldtimers who have worked their whole lives to pay for these houses. Are they now renters with landlords who just want to collect the rent each month? Is it all they have to pay the mortgage? Yet the photo is compelling on certain levels. It is a 5 shot HDR processed in Photomatix Pro 3.2 then cropped in CS4 to get the balance I wanted. LYLE

I want to go forward --- drawrof og ot tnaw I

I have wanted to take this shot forever! I didn't know the signs in front were cut out of logs until I edited this photo.  I was using my D80 with Leighs 28-300mm lens f6.7  1/1000 sec ISO 400  185mm  Bruce

Heated Moose

We went out to eat with Brad and Libby to celebrate brad's graduation from college with his BS. This was inside of Famous Dave's BBQ. I didn't have my tripod so I shot it from the 'hip'. I couldn't hold one of the shots due to the long exposure time, but the other 4 came out nice enough to use, so here it is. LYLE

Lyle's Buffalo

This big guy was just laying in the grass posing for me. I wasn't really that close, I was using the 70-300 at 230 mm. Other settings were f/5.3, ISO 100, 1/250 sec. We could include Antelope Island on our safari while you are here if you would like to. Not sure if you remember the 'buffalo' that the family refered to as "Lyle's buffalo" when we went to Oxford.

The Longest Corral

This corral is on Antelope Island just west of Salt Lake City. We went for a short drive just to get out of the house. I left my tripod in the car so I just took the stance and hoped for the best. I am actually quite pleased with the results of hand holding 5 shots. The only things I didn't like was the hose and the shadow. I cropped most of the shadow out but had to leave the hose.  LYLE
