Wooden Barrel

I took this at Heritage Park. I liked the colors but thought it looked a lot more realistic in B&W with a light tint added. Hand held Manual ISO 200 AP f16 1/50sec 35mm. Bruce

Rising Moon

I was in Salt Lake City at Lyle's for our family reunion. I shot this from a park we had a picnic at. It is hand held 1/20th sec. f9 ISO 400 62mm. I'm back in Texas looking at the flat lands. Bruce

Reflections in Reading

This is a wonderful look at three laminated glass shapes that are in the SLC Library. Bruce and I went there to look around, this is what I found. It is a 5 shot HDR. LYLE

Go West Young Man, Go West

While this photo may not be as compelling as some that I have shot it is historically important, this is the Overland Trail just outside of Riverside, WY. It is on the way to Walden, CO where Judi was raised. It is amazing to me that the trail is still visible, if you zoom in you can see it continuing over hills farther back yet. This is one of those rare single shot .jpg's that I actually do sometimes. LYLE

The Boardwalk at Brighton

We visited Big Cottonwood Canyon with Bruce and Linda during their extended stay, which Judi and I really enjoyed. The canyon was very pretty and rain chased us as we were there. I stood under a large pine tree to keep my camera dry during this 5 shot HDR image. The composition and colors came out wonderful. Bruce claimed he didn't like this one but only because he didn't take it. I enjoy his humor. LYLE

Water Wheel Detail

This is a detail of the water wheel on the mill at Heritage Park. This is a 3 shot HDR and was hand held. LYLE

Behind the Wood Shed

This little shed and discarded items are in the Heritage Park at This is The Place Monument that we all visited during our family reunion last week. I really enjoyed the composition and colors of this 3 shot HDR. LYLE

Beware of Chlorine

Bruce and Linda are here and we went on a photo shoot in the American Fork Canyon, through the Alpine Loop to Sundance where we rode the chair lift to the top of the ski slope. On the way up we stopped at a small turn-out where Bruce and I took a hike up a trail along the river. This little stone cabin was along the way. I just couldn't get the colors the way I like them with the three shot HDR I took so I just took one of them and ended up in B&W. LYLE

Pool in Blue

I have to admit, this took on a very sureal appearance as I worked with it, but it is artwork afterall. I hope you enjoy it as I do. LYLE

Painting or Photo?

Is this a painting or a photo, even I am not so sure but I like the way it came out. We will need to practice this when you are here. LYLE

Henry's Fork

This is a tonemapped version of Henry's Fork of the Snake River in Idaho. It is a 5 shot HDR. I am not sure if this is really how it looked (color wise) but I like the way it came out. It is reminescent of the work done by Trey Ratcliff in Stuck in Customs. Mind you not the photo content or composure but the processing. LYLE

National Cathedral

Here is a view inside of the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. It is a 5 capture HDR. The main hall is on the left. When President Bush and other presidents attended services here they would sit on the left side at the front of the hall. LYLE

Chimney Rock

I was on my way home from Ft. Collins, CO, July 10 when this chimney rock formation caught my eye. I pulled over to shoot it when another car also pulled over, they were from some other country but were enjoying this as much as I was. It is a simple three shot panorama. LYLE

Moose on the Loose

This little friend was being chased by a four wheeler and was very upset. I didn't really like the way he was looking at me so I hightailed it out of the area. I just grabbed my camera out of the drybag while in my kayak, it was set at f/8, ISO 100 with white balance for direct sunlight. LYLE

Feeding the Firehole

Here is a view of features at the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone. The runoff ends up in the Firehole River. We visited the park over the 4th of July weekend. I will continue to post a few photos at a time. This is a 5 shot HDR. LYLE

Orange Landscape

As we were walking past this second cauldra at the Grand Prismatic Spring Judi said I should turn around, this scene was behind me and I may have missed it had she not said something. It is a 5 shot HDR. I was pretty thrilled with the outcome.  LYLE

Grand Prismatic Spring

This is a detail shot of the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone. It was a wonderful cauldra that was filling the air with steam and a noxious odor (sulfur?). I actually shot this in JPEG and did not try to use HDR. I set both the ISO (100) and aperture (f/8), other setting were selected by the camera, shutter 1/750. I used the 18:135 lens at 32 mm. LYLE

Road to Glory

With tomarrow being July 4th I wanted to show my patriotism so I shot this on my way home today. This is coming out of Jefferson, it looks like I crossed the center line when I hung out the window to get the shot, not really. I parked in a parking lot using my monopod I waited untill traffic was clear and I walked out into the road to get this shot. I took 3 exposures but could only use 1 because a breeze was bolwing the flags.  F19 1/350 200 ISO 140mm Bruce
