Arch in Arch

Another capture of the Utah State Capitol Building. I really like the way this leads your eye in with light rather than lines. The details are incredible in this building, it is so interesting and makes a great photo shoot. I had my tripod with me but for some reason I was not using it. This is a 5 shot HDR from the 3rd floor. LYLE

Bride in Blue

I felt I could post this because she is not related to either of us. With these results I think I am going to start a portraiture studio. Don't you think this would look good on the mantle?

It is a 5 shot HDR that I hand held and then processed in painterly mode in Photomatix. LYLE

The Camera

I streched the limits Lyle and his camera. Bruce

Fire Hydrant

I have been looking at this shot I took at Heritage Park thinking it just wasn't what I wanted when I shot it. I cropped it 5x5 converted it to Black & White in curves layer I adjusted the sliders to get the grey scale where I wanted it then added a sepia photo filter art 86%. I finaly like the Photo. Bruce

The Pink Dome

This is an interior shot of the Utah State Capitol Building. I really liked the colors after I tonemapped the 5 shot HDR. LYLE

Intersecting Curves

I was at a photo shoot for a bride in the State Capitol Building today and took the time to shoot a few HDR's of the building without the bride. I thought you might enjoy an HDR that was processed just a bit less dramatic.

Try Shooting These Piers

This was shot as an HDR but rather than tonemapping in Photomatix I used the fusion method and then bumped up a bit of the contrast and colors to get it the way I like them. LYLE (dreaming of warmer places)

Twins

I shot this while we were walking around the Art District. I hadn't edited it before because in the original the contrast I was trying to show wasn't there. This a 2 exposure HDR with the bottom cropped off because of the glareoff of my brothers heads. (not really they had hats on) In Photoshop I added a yellow photofilter and changed the light to vivid, that is when this photo popped likar I wanted it to. Bruce

Water Well

Salt Lake City Revisited

I haven't been shooting in a while so I am playing with older exposures. I used paint shop and changed the colors of the sky and Shadows flipped it vertically and horizontally then in Photosape I added the reflection. I'M having fun. Bruce

A Box of River

I decided to send you a pretty view of river rapids in a box. I shot this on the last day we went to the mountains on the trail to the falls where I climbed down the rocks to get a shot of the waterfall. I thought this might warm you up a little. I processed this in Photoshop raw by changing the levels sliders on the
first exposure and left the 2nd exposure as is then made a 2 shot HDR and added a cooling filter in layers and then in Photoscape I used the backlight tool at 150 then boxed it. ENJOY IT! Bruce

Colorful Pier

I have been in sub freezing weather so long now I am also looking for warmer places to be. Cocoa Beach was one of them even though it was in a record breaking cold spell when we were there almost 2 years ago. After I tonemapped the HDR there was an area of the waves that was blown out. I probably would not be able to enlarge this due to the clone stamping I did to hide the area that was gone. I also used PhotoScape to give it a pastel filter. LYLE

Olympic Bobsled run

I have been working in the cold and snow the last 3days. I decided to return to Utah where it was warm. I didn't care for this exposure until I made it a B&W and cropped it. I bet this scene looks a lot different now. Bruce

Life on the Rocks

I'm stuck in the house today so I'm playing with some older shots. I made an hdr using 2 Photos one underexposed and the other normal plus one stop then in photoshop I used Levels, curves, Selective colors, and vibrance then in photoscape I added the frame but didn't care for any of the effects so left like it. was. A Skewed View

I posted this HDR photo a long time ago, it is one of the entries into Trolley Square Shopping Center. I used PhotoScape to give it this fractured view. I wasn't sure if I liked it much but it seemed to grow on me. I used the vignette #2 to darken the edge and then distort-illusion function set at 2 and then into Photoshop to darken it a bit with the levels tool. LYLE

Remembering the Black Birds

I looked out my window this morning and all I could see was a black blizzard, the birds must have been circling. I grabbed my camera ran outside and they scattered and I took 2 exposures and my battery was dead and the other shot was out of focus. The birds remind me of the trees along the road in Nebraska when I was a kid. auto f10 1/400 ISO 1000 Bruce
