Rent-a-Truck

I was hoping they would leave the tractor on the truck when I rent it but I couldn't find the owner.
This is in a pasture between Marshall and Austin. I was real excited that I had good light when I was coming back to Austin the last time I was there then I didn't work on it when I got back. This is a 3 exp. HDR cropped it was too close to the left and looked like it was about to roll out of the photo.

Lower Falls

I was looking at some frames of past shoots I have and decided to work on some. This is at the state park I visited  not long ago.

New Pet

I used my Tamron at 300mm 3shot HDR all sharpened 35% and mode change to vivid. I was sitting on my deck and noticed a movement. I went in and got my camera the fawn just laid there posing for me.

Candy Cane Ridge

This is a 6 shot panorama of Candy Cane Cliffs in Yant Flats. It is located in Southern Utah near St George. I shot this with a Nikon D200, hand held in manual, 70-300 lens at 70mm, 1/100 sec, f/16, ISO 320 and spot metering. I photo merged it in Photoshop, sharpened it using High Pass Sharpening at 12 and Overlay. I also adjusted the colors and the histogram. LYLE

Nature Trail Bridge

I just couldn't pass up this shot of a wonderful bridge that I crossed while on a nature walk near Huntington, UT. A couple friends and I went to the mountains above Ogden to shoot the fall colors, as you can see in the background we were too late. But the bridge was cool. This is a single capture in Manual on a Nikon D750 (as are the next three photos). LYLE

Red Leaf on Handrail

As I was walking across this bridge I noticed a small yellow leaf stuck on one of the bridge handrail supports. I thought it looked really cool so I looked around and found a pretty red leaf and staged it on this support. I really like the joint in the handrail along with the beaver dam and water in the background. This is a single capture. LYLE

An Ernest Discussion

I thought this looked like a couple of aliens, in their native world, having a discussion about something. LYLE

Ward Charcoal Ovens

The Ward Charcoal Ovens was an amazing sight with flashlights lighting them up from inside and my truck lights on the outside. It is a 15 second exposure to capture the Milky Way without star trails. They are located just outside Ely, NV.  LYLE

Two Twenty

While in Ely, NV we went for a train ride. This really cool clock was hanging on the wall of the shop where the trains are maintained. LYLE

Swirrling Aspen

Have you ever wondered how it might look if a worm hole opened up right over your head while you were walking in an aspen forest? Well it just might look like this. LYLE

Streaking Aspen

Just a little movement while taking another photo, old age is setting in so I can't hold the camera still anymore.  LYLE

Remembering Winter

Its 101 deg. today when I saw this photo I couldn't help but think when I shot this I was wishing for warmer weather. Now I'm wishing for cooler weather just not this cold!

Tree on the Sabine

I over looked this shot so I'm posting it today. I was standing under the bridge with the tree back lit. I can't.believe I overlooked this one it is the best of the series in my opinion.

US 59 Bridge over Sabine River

The potential hazards of flooding is evident with the limbs building up under the bridge. I used Coral Paint Shop to convert to B&W.

Sabine River 2015

Here is 2 shots of the Sabine River and one that & took in 2011 while standing where water would be over my head now. I was set up between the water and the log in The first photo. Both Photos are HDR's in Photoshop cc

Lemming Trees

When I viewed this photo I thought it looked like the trees had all lined up and marched into the lake like a bunch of Lemmings. LYLE

Floral Arrangement

While using some professional studio lighting I shot this floral arrangement. I used another light behind the backdrop to highlight the center of the shot. I also have one from the other side to make a pair. LYLE

Ghana Threads

A friend of mine borrowed some studio lights and invited me to shot with them. We sure had some fun. This is a photo of some thread used to make fabric by a tribe in Africa. He had been there so he had several things like that. This was so fun I came home and made myself a soft box so I can shoot here. LYLE

Goblin Valley

Goblin Valley was also an interesting place. The wind was so fierce I had a hard time keeping my camera still with the 300mm lens all the way out. I liked the image of what appears to be a foreign planet rising from amongst the goblins. LYLE

Tabernacle Organ

I was allowed to be on the rostrum of the Tabernacle on Temple Square the other day. The console to the organ was sitting with its back to the pipes so I was able to get a rather unusual shot of the whole thing. I also shot a bunch of close-ups of the pipes. LYLE

Beached Log

This log was laying on a beach just around the corner from the other shot of a fallen tree. I loved the colors of the sandstone walls and the water in this shot. LYLE

Fallen Tree at Powell

They dropped me off on a beach for a little bit so I could take some photos with different foregrounds. I found this fallen tree to be interesting so I included it in a photo. No HDR on this one, just shot in RAW and then brightened it up a bit. LYLE

Yucca in Bloom

The Yucca's were in bloom at Lake Powell so I shot one of them. As you can see I did a bunch to this photo to get it to look like this. I really enjoy having fun with the photo editing portion of photography. LYLE

Icicle in Bush

While in Mi. I it was so cold I didn't go shooting but once and then only out the front door. It warmed up enough to melt the snow on the roof but cold enough to freeze when it hit the bush under the corner of Leigh's house. The shape of it I just hod to photograph.

Wicker and Weeds

I went for a walk along the Jordan River Walkway and picked a bunch of weeds. After arranging them in a small wicker basket I lit up the wall behind them with a small flashlight. The extra lighting is subtle but I liked the overall effect. This is a 20 second exposure in Manual mode in a very dark area. LYLE

Branch and Leaves

I noticed on the other selection that the background has some pixilation going on probably due to the size of the file I used. This one is 300dpi where the next one is 180dpi. that seems to make a lot of difference. LYLE

Twigs and Leaves

Been looking for something to do this winter. There was a small branch blown off of the tree in our backyard along with a few leaves that were not picked up from the fall season. I scattered them on a piece of black paper and took a few pictures. LYLE
