In The Tree Tops

I like the way this house seems to be floating in the tree tops. The HDR technique brings a lot of detail out in the trees and makes the color really pop. After a little straightening and cropping I am pretty pleased with the results. LYLE

It all uphill from here

I see a neighborhood like this and wonder about the home owners, are they oldtimers who have worked their whole lives to pay for these houses. Are they now renters with landlords who just want to collect the rent each month? Is it all they have to pay the mortgage? Yet the photo is compelling on certain levels. It is a 5 shot HDR processed in Photomatix Pro 3.2 then cropped in CS4 to get the balance I wanted. LYLE

Heated Moose

We went out to eat with Brad and Libby to celebrate brad's graduation from college with his BS. This was inside of Famous Dave's BBQ. I didn't have my tripod so I shot it from the 'hip'. I couldn't hold one of the shots due to the long exposure time, but the other 4 came out nice enough to use, so here it is. LYLE

Lyle's Buffalo

This big guy was just laying in the grass posing for me. I wasn't really that close, I was using the 70-300 at 230 mm. Other settings were f/5.3, ISO 100, 1/250 sec. We could include Antelope Island on our safari while you are here if you would like to. Not sure if you remember the 'buffalo' that the family refered to as "Lyle's buffalo" when we went to Oxford.

The Longest Corral

This corral is on Antelope Island just west of Salt Lake City. We went for a short drive just to get out of the house. I left my tripod in the car so I just took the stance and hoped for the best. I am actually quite pleased with the results of hand holding 5 shots. The only things I didn't like was the hose and the shadow. I cropped most of the shadow out but had to leave the hose.  LYLE
