Totem Pole
Judi and I went to visit Kari and Bill in Seattle in May of 2008, while there we took a day and went to Victoria Island, BC and Thunderbird park. These totem poles sit all through the park. This one was a funeral pyre for a tribal chief. The day was overcast so the sky was white but the colors of the totem pole came through nicely. D40, 18-55, f/5.

I haven't seen a totem pole in a long time, the overcast skys helped the colors harsh sun light probably would wash some of the color and detail out but may have made it look more menacing, I like it this way.
