Cleared for Flight

This is a 5 capture HDR tonemapped in natural compression. These were real men pioneering the art of flight, can you imagine sitting on something like this and going airborne with it? It is a 1911 Wright Flyer. I took the shots looking between the rear stabilizers. I get the impression that he has been checked out for flight and is getting out of the hangar so he can get underway. I shot this at f/22 with my 18-105. The steps were set at -0.3 EV, one f-stop apart. The setting was in the Aerospace Museum at Hill AFB, Ogden, UT. LYLE

  1. Yes I can imagine sitting in the pilots seat flying it. But that is where it stops is in my imagination unless it stays on the ground. Bruce
