Colorful Shoreline

As Judi and I were walking around the shoreline of Silver Lake I noticed a nice little deck that was built out over the water. I walked out onto it and saw this scene. Judi was busy talking to a couple of people who were practicing their fencing skills, you meet all kinds on these trails. This HDR came out pretty nice with the fall colors in the background. With a circular polarizer on, the water is very clear and the sky is bright blue. It was shot at about 10:00 am. LYLE

The Red Leaves of Fall

This shot was taken while I was in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The leaves were beautiful but fall had not progressed too far at the time. I think I will go back up this weekend to see how they are doing. I had to crop this one to get the balance I wanted. It was shot in aperture mode after a frustrating foray into manual mode. LYLE

Fall is in the Air

After looking at this photo at work where my monitor is calibrated I realized how far off my monitor is at home after I had it worked on. I need to go calibrate it also. LYLE

This is Silver Lake where I shot the photo that you didn't like in the rain. I was up there before daylight and shot this 5 shot HDR just after sunrise. The fall leaves were just turning and the light was perfect. I used a polarizing filter so I could capture the moss and rocks on the bottom of the lake and blue up the sky. LYLE

Fall for a Panorama

Wow, I can't believe another set of single shots! No HDR in this one. The next few shots were made as Judi and I were on the trail to Lake Blanch along with Libby and Sam, Brads family. I took 4 photos but didn't like the results with the fourth one attached so I only used three of the shots. I hand held them even though I had my tripod with me. This was on the way out and I was too tired to set up the tripod again. I did have to clone stamp out some black corners and enhanced the colors just a bit in CS4 to get it the way I remembered seeing it. LYLE

Aspen in Fall

I cropped this single shot just to get the leaves where I wanted them in the photo. Other than that I did not make any adjustments to this photo. I really liked the way the sun was highlighting these leaves much like the ones in the next photo also.  LYLE

Proof: Fall is Here

This beautiful little bouquet was just begging me to take its picture, so I obliged it. A single capture with no adjustments of any kind, what you see is what I shot. I opened up the aperture so I could control the depth of field and center weighted it to focus on the colored leaves without a lot of distraction from the background. LYLE

Color on the Trail

This 5 capture HDR along the trail to Lake Blanch was really showing off all of its glory. What a nice day it was, 90 F in the valley and nice and cool on the trail. These colors don't last long so I was happy to get them. LYLE
