Eagle Gate Revisited

So Danelle, is this better? I had to clone stamp out a stop light that was way ugly and this time I was able to wait until there were no cars in the scene. You can also see the Church Administration Building and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building beside Brigham Youngs residences. The Salt Lake Temple is out of sight due to these buildings.  LYLE

  1. I also learned a very important lesson with these images. CLEAN YOUR LENS! Mine had been hit with just a bit of rain and had spots all over it. They really show up when you shoot in HDR. LYLE

  2. Nice shot but I would like a differant angle, try shotting from between the legs (from one side not the middle of the street) with the arches pointing to the eagle. Bruce

  3. All right, but you are going to get tired of the Eagle Gate. Second thought, maybe this is one of the things you should shoot when you are here. LYLE

  4. I am with Bruce on this one Lyle. I am not sure that I like the angle...ohhh I am allowed to say that as a new reader on this blog? I think you meant for the Eagle to be a focal point of the shot and with zooming in on the upper right of the frame it really does create a bit of a distraction from the whole shot.

  5. Dad, this is nice but it was not what I had in mind. I was thinking of cropping out the street and just getting the leading curving lines of the gate with the very hard right angles of the building behind it. Nothing but sky. Maybe with a sky with some dimension like clouds, sunrise, etc.

And I like Bruce's suggestion too. I see that humor really runs in the family!
