The Rock
I took several photos of some rock formations while in Albion Basin. I liked the way this one was layered and then perched on the edge of a small wash. I used my grey card to set the white balance, it set it at 5500 Kelvin, I changed it to 5800 K to warm it up just a bit. LYLE

The Assignment
I was assigned to get a photo of a new prototype building that we built. It is a new design that incorporates a complete solar array on the roof. Some of the staff really liked what I did but I am not too sure about the management. I may not get another "assignment" from them-oh well. It is a 5 shot HDR that is tone mapped and heavily massaged in Photomatix and CS4. LYLE

Elevated Night Shot
You were wondering about the photo I took as we talked while I was in Miami. This is it. You can see the elevated train, it is a long streak of light on the bridge. I liked the colors and the autos on the street below. It is an HDR but I don't remember too much about it other than the memory of talking to you and shooting off of the balcony. As I recall I was on the third floor. LYLE

Just a Little Fall
This waterfall in Albion Basin was an expermental time for me. I was using a black, white and grey card to set the white balance for the first time. It actually came out pretty good. The waterfall itself is quite small, only about 12", but came out nice and looks to be much larger. The colors have not been enhanced at all. I also acquired a Eye-one 2 diagonstics tool to calibrate my monitor. It allows me to send things to a printer and get it right the first time. LYLE

Green Gunk on Block
This series of photos were taken while I was unintentially breaking the law. I was on a right-of way that was posted, but the sign was so small that I didn't see it. I think that this graffiti is truely awful but knew that it would make a compelling photo so I took the chance. 5 shot HDRs taken just after sunset actually came out quite nice. LYLE
Graffiti Mess
I intentially made this look dark and brooding as I think the minds of those that do this kind of defacing of our public rights-of-way probably are. This is a highly modified 5 shot HDR. I only got one chance to get this done before I was escorted off of the property by an official of the Utah Transit Authority as I was tresspassing on federal property. After many apologies he graciously let me go and we parted friends. LYLE

SHHH....Its a Cecret
This is an HDR of Cecret Lake at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. It took about all of me to get there, very steep switchback trail that is only a mile hike but rises a bunch all at the end of the trail. I even carried all of my gear up there just to be able to take only 2 HDR photos when the battery died and no backup. Oh well, I will just have to go back one day. LYLE
Oh, couple a bucks maybe
I wasn't sure if they wern't discussing thier next move to get away from this crazy photographer. As we were leaving the Cecret Lake trail head these two guys were in a meadow just off the road. I used the car as a 'blind' so they wouldn't get too nervous about me and also used it for a tripod to steady my camera as I was zoomed way in to get the shot I wanted. Aperture priority, f/5.6, ISO 110, zoom 250mm and shutter 1/30 sec. LYLE

Rotated Pier
This is a rather funky panorama of the dock that was on the property that Damon was leasing while in Wilmington. I rotated the camera with each shot, then straightened each photo to level the dock. I used Seref Panorama to stitch them together. I wanted to see if I could do it so when I am taking a panorama of a cityscape I could highlight the tall buildings. LYLE

Waterfall on the Firehole
This is a single capture of a waterfall on the Firehole River in Yellowstone. I had to adjust the color due to the fact that I had been messing with the white balance on my camera and didn't pay attention to what I was doing as I continued taking photos. I opened it in Photoshop and reset the levels and then with the eye dropper set the black and white points. LYLE
